Commonly Asked Questions
What is Adult Day Health Care?
Adult Day Health Care (or ADHC for short) is an organized day program serving elderly persons and other adults with physical impairments or health problems. An Adult Day Health Care Center can offer you, your family member or friend, opportunities to socialize and enjoy others while receiving medical and social services in a warm, stimulating environment.
How much does the program cost?
Your daily fee is based on your ability to pay. A sliding schedule is used to determine what each client will be charged. Every effort will be made to make this program affordable to you.
What services will I receive at the Center?
A wide range of services are available, each ADHC participant has a plan of care developed to meet his or her own distinct needs. The following services are provided to ADHC participants as needed and desired: Nursing Care Physical, Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Recreational Activities, Education and Counseling, andDietary Counseling. All participants receive a complete nutritious lunch.
How do I know if I or a family member can participate?
We serve adults over the age of 18 who need individualized care, but who are not gravely ill or bedridden. If you think this program could benefit you or a family member or friend, please call us. Through direct discussion of your (or their) special needs, we can (with the recommendations of your doctor) decide together whether our program is right for you.
Will my Medi-Cal cover the cost of the program?
Those who qualify for Medi-Cal are generally covered for the ADHC program. Our social workers can help you learn how to apply for Medi-Cal.
What about transportation?
If you have no way to get to the Center, we will be happy to provide transportation to and from your home. (There are limitations to our ability to do this, so be sure to ask further about this should you need transportation.)
How many days is the Center open?
We are open five days a week, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our program hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Does the Center take donations?
The Center will gladly accept almost any type of donation you wish to make. Cash donations, equipment, and volunteer time are especially appreciated and welcome. (How to Donate)
