Every town should have a Peg Taylor Center! I’ve been coming here for ten years now, and it’s terrific. When I first came I wasn’t able to walk very far.

After working with the Center’s physical therapist, I got to where I could walk outside and all around the building, which was very encouraging to me.

Recently I also started ‘volunteering’ at the center! Every Monday I read to a group of nine other clients. We all enjoy getting out of our everyday living situation to spend the day among friends. And it is really enjoyable.

I was in the business world for 32 years and I’ve never seen a group of staff get along as well and be as kind as the staff of the Peg Taylor Center.

How do I make a referral

photoIf you know of someone who needs our program, call our social workers to provide his or her name, phone number, and some basic information about why our program is needed. Our social workers will follow-up by calling the prospective client (or his or her caregiver) to share more information about our Center. If the client is interested, we will arrange a visit, either here at the Center or at home. We are happy to talk to anyone about our program to help him or her determine whether we are the right resource at this time, or to find other options that may be more appropriate.

Early referral to the Peg Taylor Center is recommended whenever possible. Adult day health care can prevent many of the health complications that result from isolation and inactivity after an illness. Our goal is to help our clients remain as active and independent as possible, building upon their present strengths, abilities and interests. Becoming acquainted with the Peg Taylor Center at an earlier time helps to ensure that our clients retain the highest quality of life possible.

To accomplish this goal, we provide a wide range of care, including extensive assistance with personal care needs and ambulation. This enables us to help people with a wide variety of needs, as well as those whose care needs are not yet as great. Our clients support and enjoy one another, thus encouraging continued improvement in health. We hope to help every Peg Taylor Center client maintain the highest level of health and functioning possible, given their unique situations.
