In tribute to Margaret "Peg" Taylor
Peg earned her R.N. at the New York Hospital, Cornell University and a Master's Degree at Columbia University. In addition to working as a nurse all over the United States, Peg assisted with preventative care and rehabilitation during World War I, assisted the Red Cross during World War II, and served as the Director of Public Health Nursing at the school of Public Health in Minnesota.
Peg Taylor retired to Chico, Ca in 1969 where she refocused her interests to full-time volunteering opportunities, including serving as the Chairperson on the board of the Butte County Long Term Care council. During her tenure she was at the forefront of major efforts to start an adult day health care center in Butte County, an underserved rural area.
This became reality in 1986 when The Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health Care opened its doors, with a name that pays tribute to the woman who worked so hard to make it happen.
Please enjoy some beautiful memoirs of her life!
